Butch- Highbeams (Maceo Plex Remix)(Preview)

There’s a reason why we are so relieved to share this track. The story begins a few days ago when Maceo Plex posted a short, bad quality Youtube clip of him playing an unreleased track at a recent show in Edinburgh. The way the crowd reacted was something special and we soon found ourselves playing this clip over and over again. We did some investigating and we couldn’t for the life of us figure out what it was or who it was by. Finally after Shazam failed us, we came to terms with the fact that the track ID would remain a mystery forever… or would it?

Today, we are happy to say that we found the song we were desperately looking for. It’s no surprise that it features two artists we love and support. They are of course Butch and Maceo Plex. The second part to Butch’s Highbeams EP features three great remixes of the original 12” by esteemed producers Maceo Plex, Miguel Campbell and PBR Streetgang. The Ellum label boss steps up for the first interpretation of Highbeams and this, ladies and gentlemen, is the result. For now it’s just a preview but the EP will be out on Hot Creations on Feb 18.
